After working through a number of the User-Contributed Database submissions I found a number of common errors in the data submitted, so I added my own “Hints and Tips” page to help ease the submission process. Hopefully this will give you good examples of how to organize your data so it will fit into the database and allow it to be more easily searched. We also gave the RootsWeb User-Contributed Data Submission page a face lift and clarified some of the steps.

We are happy to announce that the very last mailing list was migrated to the new list management system, Mailman, last week.  Migrating approx. 30,000 lists to a new system was not an easy task, and we appreciate everybody’s patience during the process.

List Admins who need help learning the tools available with Mailman should review the Admin Tutorial.  Please report any technical problems with the mailing lists to the HelpDesk.

Mailing list admins, your life is about to get a little bit easier. You no longer have to enter a separate password to access your admin tools if you:
